Wood Collection Volume 1 "Pro"

The Wood Collection Volume 1 "Pro" is more than just a book!

The 3-ring binder contains 72 actual wood samples in addition to a comprehensive text that describes each of the woods! Each wood sample is 2.5" x 3.5" x 1/8". Architects and designers can now have an entire wood library sitting on their bookshelves! Craftsmen and designers can use the real wood samples to give their clients a "hands-on" look at a variety of woods. Schools can give their students access to a wealth of information previously unavailable in one text!

Each page of The Wood Collection contains scientific and botanical information about the trees and a highlighted map of the world showing the region where they grow. Botanical features such as size of the trees, shape of the leaves, or color of the flowers are described in detail and accompanied by line drawings.

The qualities and physical properties of each wood are presented in a manner that is useful to the craftsman. Safety precautions and other concerns are covered in detail. The wood samples included in The Wood Collection "Pro" allow a "hands-on" approach to learning about new woods!

Many of the trees that produce these beautiful woods are utilized in many different ways in their native regions. The Wood Collection describes how they are used medicinally by local peoples and also any historical, archaeological, or cultural significance the tree or wood may have.

Each page also includes a high-resolution photomicrograph of each wood. The reader can study and identify woods with a simple hand lens by using the photos in The Wood Collection as a reference.

Wood Collection "Standard"

This binder houses laminated color photographs of the 73 woods covered in the Wood Collection Volume I text and also gives wood identification tips along with figured wood information. The "Basic" book as described below is also included as conveniently fitted components in the main binder.
